Hoffman is replacing Jim McCalmant, Paynesville, as the director. “I think the senior center is a wonderful building and should be utilized more by the community,” Hoffman said.
Hoffman will work at the center 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. She said she is looking forward to getting to know the senior citizens in the area and promoting activities that can serve them.
Hoffman and her family moved to Paynesville 19 years ago from Granite Falls. She has worked the past eight years as an LPN at the Assumption Nursing Home in Cold Spring. Last spring, she also started working with Paynesville Motor and Transfer as a school bus driver.
Her husband, Dan, works at Rothstein Implement, St. Martin. They have four children: Andy, 20; Tony, 17; Tracy, 15; and Ted, 7. Hoffman lists as her interests gardening, working with kids, and camping with her family.
