The Paynesville Area Hospital District took the following actions at their meeting on Wednesday, June 25. The board met at 7 p.m. to tour the newly remodeled Washburne Court and then met at 8 p.m. at the hospital for their business meeting. The board approved turning a $2,126 delinquent account over to a collection agency. The board approved the following appointments to the medical staff. Jeffrey Arnholt, M.D., a radiologist, and Darren Glass, M.D., a general surgeon, have been given privileges. Janell Haiwick, M.D., and Anita Strei, M.D., who both have patients at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins, have completed their provisional period and have been appointed to the consulting staff. And Tim Malling, M.D., was given additional privileges to do esophagastrodudenoscopies. CEO Steve Moburg reported that the administration was conducting interviews for a new chief financial officer and expected to hire someone within a couple weeks, that PAHCS had reached a tentative agreement with the LPN's union, that administration was continuing to work on getting Critical Access designation for the hospital, and that the final state budget did not affect health care as much as was projected in the initial budget proposals.
