Dairy Queen Pageant
Kindergartners could compete in the Little Miss Dairy Queen and Little Mister Dairy Queen contests in the Gazebo Park on Sunday, June 20. The pageant was judged by the 2003 Paynesville royalty, by the 2004 Miss Paynesville candidates, by the parents of last year's winners, and by DQ employees.
Chosen as Little Miss Dairy Queen was Paige Friedrick, the daughter of Craig and Jessi Friedrick, and chosen as the Little Mister Dairy Queen was J.T. Gunderson, the son of Brooks and Krista Gunderson.
Queen Pageant
The annual Miss Paynesville pageant was held on Monday, June 21, in the auditorium at Paynesville Area High School. Eight girls competed for the crownÉHolly Bennett, Valerie Callenius, Kendra Johnson, Brittany Lieser, Samatha Moser, Katie Nelson, Ashley Spanier, and Angie Wunsch. Nelson, the daughter of Dave and Diane Nelson, was crowned Miss Paynesville with Johnson, the daughter of Guy Johnson and Joanne Johnson, as First Princess and Lieser, the daughter of Bob and Diane Lieser, as Second Princess.

Pet Show
The annual pet show was held on Tuesday morning, June 22, at Washburne Court with over 70 entries. Every kid who brought a pet was given a prize. The new Paynesville royalty picked five prizes among the entries.

Kiddie Parade
The Kiddie Parade was held on Tuesday afternoon with eight entries. The parade this year started at Washburne Court and ended at the Gazebo Park. Four prizes were awarded, again chosen by the Paynesville royalty.

Pedal Tractor Pull
On Tuesday evening, 121 kids - ages 4-11 - participated in the annual pedal tractor pull, sponsored by the Paynesville Community Club. The pull was held on James Street.

Grand Parade
Cool weather arrived for the Town and Country Days Grand Parade on Wednesday evening. This year's parade featured 84 units and two marching bands. It followed the same route as recent years: starting in the Industrial Park, going down Washburne Avenue, turning past the elementary school, and ending by St. Louis Catholic Church.
