Shuck endorsed by DFL in House District 13A |
Bruce Shuck (DFL-Sunburg) was endorsed for the Minnesota House of Representatives by the District 13 DFL Convention in Belgrade on Saturday, June 5. Shuck, of rural Sunburg, will attempt to unseat Republican incumbent Bud Heidgerken (R-Freeport) in District 13A, which includes northern Kandiyohi, western Stearns County, and all of Pope County. District 13A includes the cities of Lake Henry, Regal, and St. Martin and the townships of Lake Henry, Roseville, St. Martin, and Irving in the Paynesville area. Bruce Shuck (DFL-Sunburg) has been endorsed to run for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 13A. Shuck ran against Heidgerken in November 2002 for an open seat in District 13A, with Heidgerken winning the election 9,192-5,636. Shuck, a former dairy farmer now employed as a salesman for a farm supply company, said Minnesota agriculture needs more aggressive and practical support from the state. "Farming remains the backbone of the rural economy, and the best thing we can do for our Main Street businesses is give them farmer-customers with money to spend," Shuck said. Shuck pledged to conduct clean, issue-oriented campaigns and abide by campaign spending limits. The District 13 DFL Convention also endorsed Al Juhnke (DFL-Willmar) for a fifth term in the Minnesota House. Juhnke now represents District 13B, which is Willmar and southern Kandiyohi County. His district used to include northern Kandiyohi County.
