Seven girls are representing Stearns County in the region pageant. They are: Utsch, Sonya Gondringer and Denise Koopmeiners, Albany; Judy Holdvogt, Freeport; Linda Nathe and Angie Tegel, Sauk Centre; and Melinda Schumer, St. Stephen.
Utsch is the daughter of Ken and Shirley Utsch. A recent graduate of Paynesville Area High School, her parents farm 210 acres and have a herd of 65 Holstein dairy cattle.
Utsch was a member of DECA, worked with the prom committee, peer helpers, peer tutors, youth ministry at her church, is a church lector, and CCD teacher. She also represented Paynesville as a Girls Stater. She is a member of the National Honor Society, has received the Lions Service Award, and has been named to Who's Who Among American High School Students.
After graduation, Utsch plans on attending Rasmussen College, St. Cloud, and get a degree in accounting and business management.
The Region VI of the American Dairy Association of Minnesota will be hosting their regional pageant on Friday, June 18, at The Landing in St. Anna with a buffet style dinner at 8 p.m. The coronation will take place about 9 p.m.
Cost of the tickets for the pageant are $7. They can be purchased from any of the county dairy princesses, or from region board member Corrine Lieser, 320-243-4324.
