Annette Niewind, a Paynesville native, has been promoted to general manager at the Paynesville’s Country Inn by Carlson.Niewind accepted the promotion after serving two years as night auditor for the Country Inn. She has been employed with the 38-room hotel off Highway 23 since it opened in April 1996.
Niewind has a background in travel, having attended the McConnell Travel School in Minneapolis and worked for two other hotels before coming to the Country Inn. The hotel owners and its management firm, Central Group Management Co. of St. Cloud, believe she has the experience and skills to continue a tradition of excellent guest service.
The Country Inn also bids farewell to its original general manager, Rachel Slagter, who will pursue a new venture closer to her home in Clara City.
