Ninety-six seniors of the Class of 2005 graduated from Paynesville Area High School on Sunday afternoon. They received their diplomas at the annual ceremony in the high school gymnasium. Along with the presentation of diplomas, the ceremony included the announcement of scholarships, addresses by seniors Heather Albrecht and Kimberly Hess, and performances by the band and senior choir students.
School board chairman Allen Schmidt smiles with fatherly pride after handing a diploma to his daughter Sarah Schmidt on Sunday afternoon. Graduating Summa Cum Laude (grade point average (GPA) of 3.8 and above) were: Heather Albrecht, Kimberly Hess, Lisa Lenzmeier, Kayla Mackedanz, Michael Mueller, Ashley Spanier, and Phoebe Wellens. Graduating Magna Cum Laude (GPA between 3.5 and 3.8) are: Amber Chevalier, Kayla Dingmann, Matthew Fuchs, Brittany Lieser, Stephanie Louis, Jack Mueller, Katie Nelson, Sarah Schmidt, and Rachael Wendlandt.
