New director at Area Center |
Inez Jones will be taking over the duties of director of the Paynesville Area Center. Jones, who is originally from Freeport, is a long-time area resident. She has a social work degree from St. Cloud State University and has been a substitute teacher in the Paynesville Area Schools, where most of her assignments were in the middle school. Her new job at the Area Center will be a combination of social work and business administration. She will be responsible for day-to-day activities: including event scheduling, creating a newsletter, and coordinating programs. She will also do fund raising and provide information and support to seniors. The Area Center serves lunch, delivers meals to shut-ins, and provides health, fitness, and social programs. Jones likes the flexible hours at her new job and the opportunity to do something meaningful for her. "This is a way to give something back to the community," she said. She and her husband, Neil, have a dairy farm south of Lake Koronis. She has four children and likes to fish and read.
