A 1,500-pound beef steer had other ideas when it broke through a gate and took off on the run from C&G Meats last week. David Schrupp said the truck was backed up to the door but the steer took one look at the door and broke a gate. A group of men chased the steer several blocks, trapping it in the junk yard at Stanger Steel about eight blocks away.
"We were probably only chasing the steer about a half-hour but it seemed like forever," Schrupp said.
