Representing the sixth grade are Peggy Thompson and Matt Gardner; seventh grade, Katie Bengtson and Sam Thompson; and eighth grade, Maria Janotta and Danny Schutz.
Peggy Thompson is the daughter of Rick and Gail Thompson, rural Paynesville. Her teachers state she has a very positive attitude, comes ready to learn every day, and is respectful of others around her. Peggy lists as her interests and hobbies reading, riding her horse, playing piano and visiting with friends. She is a member of the FLA, plays on the sixth grade traveling basketball team, gymnastics, plays in the band and sings in the choir. She is also a 4-H member.
Matt Gardner is the son of Bob and Phyllis Gardner, rural Paynesville. His teachers state Matt has a very strong work ethic, has a positive attitude in class and comes prepared to class. Matt lists as his interests and hobbies playing sports and working on his tree fort. He is a member of the middle school science club.
Katie Bengtson is the daughter of Ronald and Viola Bengtson. Her teachers state she is conscientious, a good worker and polite. Katie lists as her interests and hobbies biking, reading, and outdoor activities. She is also a member of the middle school band and choir.
Sam Thompson is the son of Rick and Gail Thompson, rural Paynesville. His teachers state he is a good thinker, has outstanding academic ability, is polite and well liked. Sam lists as his interests and hobbies, reading, playing games and working on the computer.
Maria Janotta is the daughter of John and Mary Janotta, Paynesville. Her teachers state Maria is a great listener, has a very positive attitude, really seems to enjoy the school environment and demonstrates all aspects of a quality student. Maria lists as her interests and hobbies golfing, being with friends, being outside, reading and shopping. She is a member of the eighth grade golf team, volleyball, plays in the band and sings in the choir. She is also a member of the Youth Advisory Board.
Danny Schutz is the son of Dave and Margie Schutz, Paynesville. His teachers state he is always cheerful. Danny is very conscientious about completing assignments, and he comes to class ready to learn. Danny lists as his interests and hobbies watching television, fishing and playing Game Boy.
