Manager starts at Premier Motor Company |
Jonathan Dobowey is the new manager at Premier Motor Company in Paynesville. Dobowey, who started in mid-March, is a former college roommate of Dan Kallevig, who owns the used car dealership with his wife Renee. Dobowey will be checking cars that come into the lot, taking them for test drives, coordinating repairs with the mechanic, supervising the cleaning of the cars, maintaining their listings on the Internet, and serving as a second salesman. Since graduating from Northwestern College in St. Paul, where he and Dan discovered a mutual love of cars, Dobowey returned home to North Dakota, where he has helped his parents on their 1,800-acre farm near Minot. He also worked as a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual for nine months of the year, in addition to farming. He will continue to help his parents run their farm, planning to take off at least a month in the spring and fall to help with the planting and the harvest. His college friend persuaded him to come and help at Premier. "I was kind of impressed with the town," said Dobowey of his first visit to Paynesville, "and they couldn't say enough about it. That sparked my interest." Away from work, Dobowey likes to watch and play basketball and to spend time at the lake tubing, jet skiing, and learning to waterski.
