Caldwell receives MASA award |
Superintendent Howard Caldwell has been named an Administrator of Excellence by the Minnesota Associa-tion of School Administrators. Caldwell has been the superintendent for the Paynesville Area Public Schools since 1989. He was honored for his leadership, concern for students, and active involvement in professional and community affairs at a recognition ceremony last week. Caldwell, a native of Danube, taught math and science for five years, served as a secondary principal for eight years, and has been a superintendent for 22 years. He holds a specialist's degree in general school administration and a master's degree in secondary school administration from Mankato State University. He earned his bachelor's degree from St. Cloud State University. "I thrived on education for the past 35 years and still enjoy it," he said. Caldwell will retire as superintendent for Paynesville at the end of the 2003-04 school year in June.
