City approves two new plats |
The Paynesville City Council approved two new plats, totaling 20 lots, last week. Fourteen of these lots are in the Ampe Morningside Addition Plat Four, owned by Peter and Paul Ampe, representing the Clara Ampe Trust, and the other six are in the WilGlo Acres Addition Plat Four, owned by Willie and Gloria Scheel. The council approved final plats for both developments at their meeting on Wednesday, March 23. Ampe Morningside Addition Plat Four includes 14 lots on 4.61 acres. Developers plan to extend Maywood Avenue to the south for 600 feet with six new lots on the west side and eight new lots on the east side. The Ampe Morningside Addition started with ten lots in 1999, when Maywood Avenue was built to connect South Street to Highway 23. Four lots were added in 2004, and now 14 more will be added. The new lots are zoned for single family homes. WilGlo Acres Addition Plat Four is a development of four lots and two outlots on 6.24 acres on the west end of the city. The new lots lie on the east side of North Grande Street. The WilGlo Acres Addition began in 2000 when the city annexed the Scheel's 35 acres to the city and approved a plat for 20 lots. WilGlo Acres now has a total of 35 platted lots, according to city administrator Steve Helget. Currently, the lots at WilGlo Acres Plat Four are zoned agricultural, said Helget, but the city will likely approve rezoning the property for single family homes at an upcoming meeting.
