The Paynesville Lions Club selected Tricia Butkofski and Maria Wegner as the March Youth Service Award winners.The purpose of the award is to honor seniors at Paynesville Area High School for their volunteer service work in the school and community.
Tricia is the daughter of Jim and Debi Butkofski, Paynesville. She is a peer helper, peer tutor, a member of the National Honor Society, letterwinners club, sings in the pops choir and choir, is student manager of the track team.
Tricia is a member of the Grace United Methodist Church where she is active in the church youth group. She is also active in “On Call,” a christian singing group. In her free time, Tricia works as a waitress at Wishin’ Well.
Maria is the daughter of Tim Wegner and Nancy Hennen, both of Paynesville. She is a peer tutor, D.A.R.E. role model, Target Leadership member, peer helper, chaperones middle school dances, is a member of National Honor Society, plays in the jazz band and band.
Maria is a member of St. Louis Catholic Church where she is a Sunday school teacher and active in the church youth group.
She also can be found competing in gymnastics, track, softball, is a volunteer gymnastics coach and former cross country runner. She is also a member of the letterwinners club.
