The students were selected by their teachers on their classroom work and how they get along with classmates.
Selected for March are: (front) sixth graders Kayla Loesch and Cory Schlangen; (middle) seventh graders Emily Mohr and Keith Klein; and (back) eighth graders Erica Wander and Mitchell Mackedanz.
Kayla is the daughter of Mary Bowar and Steve Loesch. Her teachers state she works well with her peers, and is friendly, polite, and careful. She volunteers her services in class.
Kayla is a member of the sixth grade choir and book club. She enjoys fishing, ice skating, watching sports, and shopping.
"I was surprised to receive the award," Kayla said.
Cory Schlangen is the son of Barb and Denis Schlangen. According to his teachers, Cory is a dedicated student, hard working, friendly, and polite.
Cory enjoys playing basketball and working with model cars. He was excited to receive the award. "I pay attention in class," he gave as the reason he won the award.
Emily Mohr is the daughter of Nate and Michele Mohr. Her teachers state she is a hard working student, intelligent, and a precise worker.
Emily participates on the seventh grade basketball, volleyball, and softball teams. She also is a member of the choir.
She enjoys hanging out with her friends, talking on MSN messenger on her computer, playing the piano, and listening to the radio.
"I was happy and surprised to win this award," Emily said. "I turn my work in on time and I work hard," she added.
Keith is the son of Brenda Klein. His teachers consider him a considerate student, friendly, determined, and a hard worker.
He plays football and competes in wrestling.
"I feel happy and proud to win the award," Keith said, "I work hard and try to be a good student."
Erica is the daughter of Bob and Judy Wander. According to her teachers, she is a hard worker, polite, and considerate. She is friendly and concerned about her classmates.
Erica enjoys reading. She was proud to receive the award because she studies hard.
Mitchell is the son of Mark and Mary Mackedanz. His teachers state he is a good student, dedicated and a hard worker. He puts forth a strong effort in school.
Mitchell plays basketball and golf and enjoys playing all sports.
"I was shocked to win the award," he said. He felt the reason for winning was because he's been doing good in all his classes.
