Jackpot Junction is holding weekly Tuesday night talent contests from Feb. 9 to March 23. First place each night receives $500 in prize money and a chance to compete in a winners-only contest after the seven-week series is done.
To be selected to perform, the Kavanaghs submitted a demo tape of their songs. Pat will play guitar, and Casey, a high school junior, will play saxophone and piano. Both will sing vocal parts.
They will do two songs on Feb. 16. Pat said audience appeal was a criteria in the judging and hoped for some local support at the contest. Admission to the talent show is free, she said.
