Board members were also needed to serve on the joint management, personnel, joint conference, and building and grounds committees; so, Don C. Anderson and Bob Brauchler were appointed to serve on the joint management committee, Doug Ruhland, Carolyn Swyter, and Don Thomes will serve on the personnel committee, all hospital district board members will serve on the joint conference committee, and Don C. Anderson and Mel Jones will serve on the building and grounds committee.
In other business, the hospital's legal counsel, bank of record, official newspaper, and auditing firm were also discussed at the meeting. Frauenshuh, Spooner & Landmark will remain on as the facility's legal counsel, Farmers & Merchants State Bank will continue as the facility's bank of record, the official newspaper of the hospital district will remain The Paynesville Press, and Deloite & Touche will handle the hospital's auditing.
A motion was raised and carried to raise the $20 board members receive for meeting attendance to $25 per meeting.
Diane Rothstein made a motion that a policy be initiated allowing board members to attend one out of the two continuing education meetings per year at hospital expense.
An amendment to Article IV. C. 1. of the revised PAHCS constitution will now state that officers elected shall hold office for a term of one year, or until their successors are duly elected.
PAHCS laboratory department continues to be up to code, as the Minnesota Department of Health surveyed in November and no deficiencies were found.
Medical records are up-to-date, the December bills in the amount of $581,113.65 were approved, and the PAHCS Auxiliary will be sponsoring their annual card party in March.
