Doris Heinricy, 84, Northfield Doris Heinricy, 84, died on Sunday, May 31, at the Northfield Hospital with her family by her side. A celebration of Dory's life was held on Wednesday, June 3, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield. Burial was held on Wednesday afternoon in the Paynesville Cemetery. Doris Ione "Dory" Iverson Heinricy was born on Sept. 25, 1930, to Lewis and Selma (Dalen) Iverson in Hamlin County, S.D. She was raised in Solway, Minn., and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1949. During and following her education, she worked as a waitress in her father's cafe. On July 7, 1951, Dory married Lawrence "Hop" Heinricy. After their marriage, they lived in South Dakota and Solway until moving to Paynesville in 1954. Hop passed away on June 18, 1990. In 1992, Dory moved to Northfield. Dory is survived by her children, T.J. (Robin) Heinricy of Northfield and Randie Campbell of Tucson; four grandchildren; siblings, Violet Haugo of Wadena, Bonnie Gilbertson of Barnesville, Lila Moen of Brainerd, and Shirley Gorg of Pequot Lakes; three brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hop; parents; a son-in-law; brother, Robert Iverson; and a brother-in-law. Memorials are preferred to the Prairies Edge Humane Society.
Memorial services were held on Wednesday, May 27, at the First Baptist Church in Grove City. Burial will be held in the Manannah Union Cemetery at a later time.
Shirley Ann Hegg was born on Nov. 18, 1939, to Emil and Fern (Williams) Erickson in Swede Grove Township.
She grew up in Swede Grove Township and graduated from the Grove City High School in 1957.
On Oct. 4, 1958, she married Douglas Hegg at the First Baptist Church in Grove City. They made their home north of Grove City on Wilcox Lake.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas of Grove City; children, Vicky (Loren) Pearson of Paynesville, Rick (Lisa) Hegg of Grove City, and Nancy (Brenden) Selk of Farmington; six grandchildren; siblings, Betty Olson of Grove City, Donald Erickson of New Brighton, Gordon Erickson of Rochester, N.Y., and Carol Ledbetter of Tupelo, MS; three sisters-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roger Erickson; sister, Janet Erickson; and a brother-in-law.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, June 6, at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville. Entombment will be held in Zion Cemetery in rural Paynesville.
Donna was born on April 19, 1928, to Herman and Gunda (Albu) Donner in Belview, Minn.
Donna grew up in the New London area. Later, she moved to Paynesville, where she met Clifford Knebel. Donna and Clifford were married on Feb. 27, 1947. Five children were born to this union.
Donna and Cliff farmed in the Paynesville area all her married life.
Donna is survived by her children, Joyce (Craig) Kelly of Atwater, Jay (Annie) Knebel of Florida, Julie (Leon) Spanier of California, Janet Klein of Paynesville, and Jim (Margaret) Knebel of Pillager; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Butch Donner of Hawick; and two sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; two sisters; and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Memorial services were held on Friday, May 29, at Paynesville Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Paynesville Cemetery.
Doug was born on Nov. 3, 1934, to Wilfred and Pauline (Tiemens) Hendrickson in Union Grove Township.
He married Shirley M. Thompson on July 27, 1954, in the Methodist Church in Paynesville.
They farmed south of Lake Koronis until 1980. Doug continued to work as a salesman for Morman Feeds until his retirement.
Doug is survived by his wife, Shirley of Paynesville; children, Patricia (Edward) Neal of Minneapolis, Susan (Bruce) Vanderpool of Paynesville, and Robert (Netti) Hendrickson of Paynesville; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and sister, Annette Warwick of Oakland, Calif.; a brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews of which Doug was very fond of.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lynn Dunton, Wilfred Hendrickson, Jr., Betty Crusoe, and Carol Hendrickson.
A mass of Christian burial will was held on Thursday, May 28, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Burial will be held at a later date.
Finnley Matthew Thomes was born on May 19, 2015, to Scott and Miranda (Willhite) Thomes in St. Cloud. His family was able to share four days with him before his death.
Finnley is survived by his parents, Scott and Miranda of Paynesville; brothers, Ryan and Mason; grandparents, Donald and Helen Thomes of Paynesville and Renee Willhite of Sauk Centre; great- grandparents, Lorretta Thomes of Paynesville, Leona Willenbring of Richmond, Doris Saffert of Sleepy Eye, and Dorothy Willhite of Litchfield; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Mike Willhite; a cousin; and four great-grandfathers.
Her memorial service was held on Thursday, May 21, at Nordland Lutheran Church in rural Paynesville. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mona LeFay Martinson was born on May 17, 1920, to Oscar and Viola (Davis) Bliven in Paynesville.
She grew up in Paynesville, where she attended elementary school and graduated from Paynesville High School in 1937.
On Sept. 4, 1940, Mona married Lester Martinson at Paynesville Methodist Church. This union was blessed with eleven children.
The family made their home in Paynesville until 1955, when they moved to the Rochester area before building their home in Zumbro Falls in 1964.
Mona spent her married life raising her children and serving her church and neighbors.
In 1995, they moved back to Paynesville. After 56 years of marriage, Lester died in 1996.
Mona is survived by her children, Mary Lou (David) Percival of St. Paul, Eugene (Kathee) Martinson of Paynesville, Andrea (Robert) Asleson of Duluth, LeFay (Steve) Uttecht of Rochester, Sharleen (Frank) Klennert of Theilman, Norman (Sue) Martinson of Faribault, Lynne (Duane) Zemke of Poulsbo, Wash., Donald (Chris) Martinson of Hager City, Wis., and Loren Martinson of Rochester; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Mona was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; two infant daughters; and her brother.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, May 18, at St. Joseph of the Lakes Catholic Church in Lino Lakes. Inurnment was in St. Joe's Church Cemetery.
JoAnn has relatives in the Paynesville area. She is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Gerry Morgan, Theresa (Scott) Redmond, and Pat (Lisa Turnquist); six grandchildren; and siblings, Marge Verner and Larry and Bill Craney.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Craney; four sisters; and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Joe's Church Music Ministry.
A memorial mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, May 26, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Burial was in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls with full military honors.
Nick was born on July 15, 1921, to Nick Sr. and Catherine (Bakker) Wiering in Big Sandy, Mont. The family moved to the Tyler, Minn., area in 1922.
After school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942. He served in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters and was honorably discharged in 1945.
He married Roberta Brown on Oct. 1, 1949 in Tyler, Minn. They farmed in the Tyler area before moving to Brooklyn Park in 1959, where he worked for Bishman Manufacturing as an assembler. Their union lasted until RobertaÕs death in 2010.
Nick valued education and obtained his high school diploma while working and raising eight children.
They retired to Paynesville in 1985, where he served the community by donating his time and labor mowing grass for the local airport, volunteering for the senior center and Paynesville library.
Nick is survived by his four sons, Tom of Carlos, Minn., Robert of Osseo, Minn., David (Lila) of Parkers Prairie, Minn., and Leon of Waverly, Minn., four daughters, Kathy (John) Ed of Alexandria, Brenda (Gary) Krohnfeldt of Lenoir City, Tenn., Ellen Tangren of Otsego, Minn., and Judy (Greg) Malark of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence of Tyler and Earl of Marshall; sisters, Helen Petersen of Tyler, Dorothy Gowkowski of Shoreview, Minn., and Beverly Wambeke of Marshall; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Roberta; and siblings, Arthur, James, Mary Bontje, and Agnes Nihart.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Burial will be held in St. JohnÕs Lutheran Cemetery in Atwater. Military honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Orville Edward Johnson, the son of Milo and Tillie (Wilde) Johnson, was born on Aug. 6, 1926, in Union Grove Township.
He attended school at District #36 in Grove City and served in the U.S. Navy.
Orville farmed in Swede Grove Township and retired from Hanson Silo Co. of Lake Lillian at the age of 62. He had lived in Litchfield for the past 30 years.
Orville is survived by his daughter, Deanna (David) Lease of Eden Valley, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milo and Tillie.
A visitation will be held at the Buffalo United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 26, beginning at 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Interment is scheduled for Monday, April 27, in the Olivia Cemetery.
She was born on July 19, 1927, to Frank Schafer and Bertha (Miller) Schafer in Flora Township in Renville County.
Lorraine graduated from Danube High School in 1945 and from Viola School of Beauty in 1946.
Lorraine faithfully served her Savior; her husband, Delburn; and family in Tenny, Minn., Pipestone, Farmington, Paynesville, and Mankato, (while Delburn served as district superintendent for the southwest district of the United Methodist Church) and until her homegoing as a faithful member of the Buffalo United Methodist Church in Buffalo.
She is survived by her children, Donna (Barry) Padelford of Farmington, Faye Clay of Lakeville, Dean (Brenda) Kurtz of Watertown, Wis., and Neal (Hope) Kurtz of Minneapolis; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and one sister; husband of 65 years, Delburn Kurtz; daughter, Linda (Richard) Legare; and son-in-law, Daniel Clay.
Lorraine has requested that all donations be given to the Emma Norton Residence and the Buffalo United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 20, at Paynesville Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Paynesville Cemetery.
Betty was born on Aug. 5, 1927, to Sam and Olive (Burr) Rien Lemmon, S.D.
She grew up in Lemmon and moved to Paynesville in March 1943 with her mother and brother, Roger.
On Jan. 13, 1946, she married James Atkinson in Paynesville. They were blessed with six children.
Betty is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Mike (Rita) of Paynesville, Peggy (Gary) Irrthum of Las Vegas, Nev., Curt (Karen) of Sartell, Mary (Robert) Hicks of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., and Bruce (Pauline) of Alamogordo, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Susie; a grandson; two great- grandchildren; three brothers, Sam, Bob, and Roger; and sister, Mary Lou.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Visitation will begin at St. Louis at 9 a.m.
Following lunch at St. Louis, inurnment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Morton at 3 p.m. There will be coffee and fellowship at St. John's Catholic Church in Morton at 3:30 p.m.
Shirley Mae (Morrow) Tisdell was born on Nov. 14, 1927, to James Dwight and Ora (Wharton) Morrow in Spencer, S.D.
During her childhood, her family lived in several eastern South Dakota communities, including Salem, Alcester, Sisseton, and Watertown.
She graduated from Watertown High School in 1945. She graduated from South Dakota State University in 1950 with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture and economics. She also obtained a teaching certificate from SDSU.
Following graduation, Shirley taught high school business subjects at Bristol, S.D.; Highmore, S.D.; Morton, Minn.; and Springfield, Minn.
On June 30, 1956, she married Harold Lawrence Tisdell. Together, they had four children: Mary Lee, Linda Kay, Mary Sue, and Timothy James.
Upon marriage, she helped with operations of the family farm by managing finances and preparing meals.
After retiring from farming in 1980, she and Harold spent summers at a cabin on Lake Koronis outside of Paynesville and winters in Harlingen, Texas, until they moved permanently to a lake home on Lake Koronis in 1996.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Dan) Baun of Marshall and Mary (Brian) Heinis of St. Anthony Village; four grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Cole; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; step-mother, Jewell Morrow; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; infant daughter, Mary Lee; and infant son, Timothy James.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 6, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Burial was in the St. Agnes Parish Cemetery in Roscoe.
Matt was born on June 1, 1923, to the late John P. and Mary (Kirchner) Leyendecker in Eden Lake Township.
He was a proud WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946.
He married Marie Kolb on June 15, 1949, at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud. Their union lasted until Marie's death in 2011.
Matt and Marie lived for many years in Roscoe and retired to Paynesville, where they resided for 22 years. They moved to the John Paul Apartments in Cold Spring in 2011.
Matt was employed as a carpenter in addition to owning and operating Matt's Cabinet Shop in Roscoe.
He is survived by his nine children, Charles (Rose) of Cold Spring, Diane (Ken) Thomes of Andover, Doris (Leon) Heinen of St. Cloud, Jane (Tom) Widmer of Richmond, Denis (Mary) of Rochester, Connie (Marv) Mueller of Cold Spring, Tim (Shelly) of Cold Spring, Sharon (Ben) Gertken of Richmond, and Brenda (Dennis) Lieser of Spring Hill; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister and brothers, Bernice Roggensack of California, Leo of Paynesville, and Ray of Sartell; and two sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and brothers and sisters, Agnes Ritsche, Richard, Norman, Paul, Elmer, Marjorie Hulsing, Pauline Dineen, and Ralph.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in the Paynesville Cemetery at a later date.
Yvonne Marie Fasching was born on May 10, 1941, to Adolph "Ted" and Marge (Scheiber) Fasching near Watertown, Minn.
She attended and graduated from Holy Trinity School in Winsted.
She married Dale Barsness on July 6, 1963, at Holy Trinity Church in Winsted. They shared 51 years of marriage.
She worked at General Mills until 1964 and then worked at the West Central Tribune in Willmar, at a newspaper in Seymour, Ind., as a chef at PeterÕs Resort in Glenwood, Minn., at the Southern Minnesota Beet COOP in Renville, and at MERTEC in Olivia.
Yvonne is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Paul (Denise) Barsness, Lynette (Gary) Schreifels, and Lisa (Bob) Jewell; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Stender; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Marge; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Everall and Emma Barsness; brother Eugene Fasching; and four grandchildren.
A memorial mass celebrating her life was held on Monday, April 6, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins.
Shelva was born on Nov. 21, 1938, to James and Eleanore (Schacht) McKenzie in Watkins.
She married Gene Steman on Sept. 28, 1957, at St Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud.
She had been employed at Animal Fair in Eden Valley and Modern Quilting in Litchfield, but mostly she was a homemaker, raising her seven children.
Shelva is survived by her husband, Gene Steman of Watkins; children and their spouses, Claudia and Mike Miller of Willmar, Peggy and Gene DeMorett of Watkins, Gayle and Tim Vogel of Sartell, Diane and Steve Erickson of Kandiyohi, John and Carolyn Steman of Litchfield, and Dave Steman of Watkins; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and brothers and sister and their spouses, James and Darlene McKenzie of Kimball, Jeanetta Gross of St. Cloud, and Jerry and Judy McKenzie of Kandiyohi.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Toni Dalton; and infant son, Michael.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m. at Paynesville Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will be held in the Paynesville Cemetery.
Delores Mae (Pelkey) Schwandt was born in Paynesville on April 9, 1929. She was the second daughter born to Ernest and Lillian (Otteson) Pelkey.
She graduated from Paynesville High School in 1947.
On June 5, 1948, she married Hubert Schwandt of Paynesville. They were blessed with six children and 56 years of marriage.
In 1970, Delores went to work for the Paynesville School District as a cook and later became the food service manager. She worked at the school for 22 years before retiring in 1992.
Delores is survived by her six children, David (Diane) of Paynesville, Deanna (Byron) Fuchs of Sartell, Doreen (Joe) Miller of Paynesville, Debi (Kevin) Elwood of Isle, Daniel (Kathy) of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Doug (Denise) of Paynesville; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three siblings, Eileen Bratsch of New London, Valeria Pauls of Buhl, and Larry Pelkey of Buhl; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; and nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert; parents; a grandson; and three brothers-in-law.
All memorials will be donated to the ALS Association, unless otherwise designated.
