Harriet Randall, 91, Paynesville Harriet M. Randall, 91, of Paynesville died on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at her home in rural Paynesville. A private family service will be held. Harriet Mae Randall was born on July 27, 1920, to Rev. Martin and Tillie (Schultz) Bast in Duluth. Harriet was baptized into the Christian faith as a baby. Her family moved to Paynesville, and she graduated from high school there with the Class of 1938. On Dec. 14, 1945, Harriet was united in marriage to Philip Randall in Atwater. This union was blessed with three sons and a daughter. They made their home in the Union Grove Township in rural Paynesville. Harriet took much pride and joy living on the farm. She lived and worked on the farm from the time she was married until she passed away; it was one of her true loves in life. Harriet is survived by her children, Mark Randall of Paynesville, Scott (Elaine) Randall of Paynesville, Thomas Randall of Paynesville, and Jann Randall of Paynesville; a grandson; a sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Philip; and her siblings, Ruth Sullivan, Joan Quinlin, Joy McGlaughlin, and Dale Bast.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. Burial will be at a later date.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 4-8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Jan. 9, at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. Burial was in the Eden Lake Cemetery in Eden Valley.
Betty Jane Vogelpohl was born on July 20, 1947, in Paynesville to Irwin and Lena (Blomker) Vogelpohl.
She grew up on the family farm in the Eden Lake area, where she attended a small country school. Betty went on to attend Eden Valley High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1965.
After high school, Betty attended beauty school.
In 1969, Betty was united in marriage to Wesley Boehl. One son was born to this union. Betty and Wes later divorced.
Betty worked for Champion Milking from 1988 to the present. She was their beloved office manager.
Betty is survived by her son, Charles of Oak Park Heights; sister, Marie Vogelpohl of Paynesville; brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Vince, Marvin, Vernon, and Jim; and sister, Vera.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the Litchfield United Methodist Church. Interment was in the Manannah Cemetery in Union Grove Township with military honors.
Donald James Burr, the son of Frank and Delia (Schmidt) Burr, was born on Jan. 18, 1934, in Paynesville. He graduated from the Paynesville High School in 1953 and continued his education at the Humbolt School of Traffic Management.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He married Donna Lounsbury at the Manannah Union Church on June 16, 1956.
Throughout his life he lived in Paynesville, Aurora, and Litchfield, where he was a pipefitter and a plumber.
Donald is survived by his wife, Donna of Litchfield; children, Barbara (Amir) Monzavi of Columbia Heights and Tim Burr of Litchfield; four grandchildren; brothers, Thomas of Paynesville and Joseph of Fridley; and sister, Wanda 'Skip' (Fritz) Domky of Cold Spring.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Donald and Bryan; sister, Violet 'Bing' Hemmingson; brothers, Lloyd, James, Gerald and Robert; and a sister-in-law.
Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn. A memorial gathering will be held by the family at a later date.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1944, in Redwood Falls, Minn., to John and Lois (Kissner) Potter.
Steven attended school in Paynesville. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1961, serving in Germany, and returning home in 1965.
In 1966, Steven married Joan Meyer in Paynesville. Together, they had two children, Michelle and Bryan.
Steven worked for years in sales, everything from refrigerators to coffee to radio advertising. He loved to find a failing radio station and bring it back to the top. He taught them to hold their own before moving on to the next challenge.
Steven married Gloria Hurd in Anoka, Minn., in 1975 and continued working in sales until deciding to pursue a career in long haul trucking, something he had always dreamed of doing. He retired in Montezuma, Iowa, following Gloria's death.
Steven is survived by his children, Michelle Potter-Bacon and Bryan Potter, and grandchildren, Siri and Birk Bacon, all of Austin, Texas; his mother, Lois Bridges, sister, Lori Pfeifle, and one nephew and two nieces, all of Wenatchee, Wash.; brother, Thomas Potter of Sacramento, Calif.; and special friend and cousin, Marilyn (Potter) Lau of Waseca, Minn.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, John; his brother, Douglas; and granddaughter, Liv.
His family especially wishes to thank Steven's special friends Tom, Helen, and Margie Wheeldon of Montezuma, Iowa.
