Ralph Meyer, 89, Paynesville
Ralph John Meyer, 89, of Paynesville died on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, at the VA Hospital in St. Cloud. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Aug. 27, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Burial was in the church cemetery. Ralph was born on April 29, 1929, on the family farm near Meier Grove. He was the son of John and Caroline (Anton) Meyer. He grew up in Meire Grove and attended John's Catholic School. After school he entered the United States Marines, where he served his country during the Korean War. On June 14, 1955, Ralph was united in marriage to Mary Ann Wenker at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald. This union was blessed with three sons and a daughter. They made their home in Paynesville where he worked for AMPI as a foreman for 36 years before his retirement in 1991. Ralph and Mary Ann were able share in 51 years of marriage before her death on March 30, 2007. Ralph was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and Paynesville American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, sports, polka music, and gardening. He'll be remembered as a patient and loving father and grandfather He is survived by his children: Steve (Sharon) Meyer of Raymond, Robert Meyer of Paynesville, James Meyer of North Branch, and Karleen (Raymond) Wright of North Branch; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and siblings: Philip (Rosie) Meyer, Cyril (Darlene) Meyer, MaryAnn (Clarence) Wenker, Joanne (Gene) Fischer, Bernice (Bill) Farmer, and Ed (Ann) Meyer. He was preceded in death by his wife, MaryAnn; parents; and siblings: Lorraine Ludwig, Herb Meyer, and Jerome Meyer.
Henry Titus Schmitz, 88, of Hawick died on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at GlenOaks Care Center in New London. Mass of Christian Burial was on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Burial with military honors by the Lake Henry American Legion, was in Roseville Cemetery in Hawick. Henry was born on Feb. 6, 1930, on the family farm in Zion Township of Stearns County.He was the son of George and Matilda (Hemmesch) Schmitz. He grew up on the family farm and attended country grade school in District #63 and St. Johns Prep, graduating in 1948. On Oct. 2, 1953, he entered the United States Air Force where he served his country until his honorable discharge on July 27, 1957. On Aug. 19, 1972, Henry was united in marriage to Becky Pelkey at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer. This union was blessed with four daughters and two sons. They made their home and farmed in rural Regal until moving to Hawick in 1996, where he worked as a jack of all trades. Henry and Becky shared in 46 years of marriage before her death on July 29, 2018. Henry was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church until it closed, Lake Henry American Legion, Belgrade VFW, International Union of Operating Engineers, and the round table at the Pilgrim Inn in Regal. He was an avid fan and supporter of amateur baseball in the area. He enjoyed playing cards, wood working, tinkering, hunting, telling stories, camping, weather watching, reading, the art of conversation, and spending time with his siblings, children, and grandchildren. Henry is survived by his children: Rachel Melbie (John Drexler), George Schmitz, Renae (Jeff) Stiegen, Jacob (Stephanie) Schmitz, Rebekah Schmitz, and Ruth Schmitz; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; siblings: Martin Schmitz, Herman (Bernie) Schmitz, Frances Remer, Nick Schmitz, and Bob (Judy) Schmitz; and sisters-in-law: Florence Schmitz, Dorothy Schmitz, and Irene Schmitz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Becky; grandson, Tyler; parents; and siblings: Paul, Catherine, Leonard, Herb, and Math.
Theresa A. Becker, 78, of Mounds View passed away on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 2 p.m., with visitation one hour prior, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Interment will be in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. She was preceded in death by husband, Leo; parents, Ben and Hilda Torborg; and brothers, Beno and Jim. She is survived by sons, Tim (Edie), Pat, and Paul (Gretchen); grandchildren: Jennifer Cross, Amy, Tim, and John and Heidi Becker; great-grandchildren, Caiden and Easton Cross; sister, Bev Chevalier; brothers, Bob and Jerry Torborg; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at White Pines Assisted Living in Fridley and Brighton Hospice for all their care.
Shirley Ann Vossen, 80, of Paynesville, formerly of Willmar, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, Aug. 15, 2018, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 20, at the Calvary Lutheran Church Chapel in Willmar. Interment was in the church cemetery. Shirley was born on June 22, 1938, in Paynesville. She was the daughter of Russell and Margaret (Burr) Liestman. She grew up in Paynesville and graduated from Paynesville High School in 1956. She worked for Bell Telephone Company in Minneapolis. She married her first husband, Dewayne Boie, and they made their home in Paynesville. She married her second husband, Arnold Vossen, on March 2, 1999, in Redding, Calif., and they made their home in Willmar. Shirley was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. She loved traveling and going to auctions with her husband, Arnie. She cherished the moments she was able to spend with her family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, shopping, cooking, cleaning, playing bingo, listening to music, having coffee with friends and family, attending church, and yes, even waiting in line to get that Powerball ticket. Shirley is survived by four children: Nancy Morrison (Mike) of Atwater, Minn., Allen Boie (Pam) of Paynesville, Chris (Angela) Boie of White Bluff, Tenn., and Melissa Vossen of Del Mar, Calif.; ten grandchildren: Duane, Holly, Megan, ReAnna, Hope, Faith, Nicholas, Nathaniel, Jonathan, and Adam; five great-grandchildren: Waylon, Raidyn, Amerina, Adella, and Athena; one sister, Pat (Roger) Power; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnie; son, Michael Boie; brothers, Richard and Bob; and two infant grandchildren. Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Warren Kenneth Snyder, 94, of Marshall, Minn., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at Prairie View Health Care Center in Tracy, Minn. Memorial Services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Interment was in the Marshall Cemetery. Warren was born on Aug. 20, 1923, in Marshall. He was the son of Henry and Emma (Nieland) Snyder. Warren was born with mastoiditis and though most infants born with this malady in this day didn't survive, he grew and thrived, suffering only hearing loss in one ear. Warren was baptized on Nov. 25, 1923 and was confirmed in his youth. He attended District 28 country school and later graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 1941. Warren went on to farm and do construction work, as well as sell insurance and real estate before he became a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. He retired from the postal service in December of 1990. After meeting on a blind date, Warren was united in marriage to Dorothy (Rosvold) Bjornebo in Minneapolis on Oct. 16, 1960. The couple raised four children together and shared nearly 57 years of marriage before Dorothy died in September of 2017. They lived in and around Marshall for most of their married life, except for seven years spent in Paynesville during their retirement. Warren and Dorothy spent many happy summer weekends at their cabin on Lake Koronis; fishing, gathering with friends, and playing games. They were members of Albright and then Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Warren was proud to be a Mason and after retirement he taught Ò55 AliveÓ driving classes and drove part-time for Lockwood Motors. He was known to be a very social guy, striking up conversations with anyone willing to listen. Warren's many enjoyments in life included fishing, golfing, playing cards, cheering on the Minnesota Twins, and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Warren entered his heavenly home just five days before his 95th birthday. Blessed be his memory. Warren is survived by his four children: Cheryl (and Tom) Doom of Albany, Minn., Sandra (and Dan) Labat of Marshall, Minn., Shelly (and Thomas) Vaccina of Winder, Ga., and Brian (and Nancy) Snyder of Eleva, Wis.; ten grandchildren: Karol Sebastian, Karen Doom, Kristen (Brian) Thelen, Peter (Andrea) Doom, Todd (Marie) Labat, LuAnn (Ron) Springer, BJ (Alyssa) Labat, Bridget (Michael) Beck, Monica Snyder, and Luke (Bethany) Snyder; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces; other relatives; and many friends. Verla Mae Meier was born on Aug. 7, 1929, in Welcome. She was the daughter of Frank and Alma (Gruetzmacher) Galles. She attended country school and graduated from Paynesville High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Leslie Fuchs on May 4, 1949. They were blessed with nine children and shared in 34 years of marriage before his death. Verla was united in marriage to Galen Meier on July 2, 1988. They enjoyed traveling together and their winters in Florida until Galen's death in 2010. She moved to Washburne Court on March 18, 2014, where she remained until shortly before her death. Verla worked various jobs throughout her lifetime but ended with 25 years as a lab technician at AMPI. She was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with family and friends, fishing, grandchildren's sporting events, bowling, and watching TV Ð especially game shows and soap operas. Verla died on her birthday, Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville, at the age of 89. She is survived by her children: Sandy (Norm) Gaskins, Bruce (Diane) Fuchs, Byron (Deanna) Fuchs, Rick (Sandy) Fuchs, Kathi (Bill) Ridgeway, Debi (Jim) Butkofski, Greg Fuchs, Steve (Nel) Fuchs, and Lisa (Roger) Hemmesch; Galen's children: Dennis (Londa) Meier, Carol (Chris) Nasby, Monica Meier, Curt (Beth) Meier, Russ (Karen) Meier, and Connie (Dick) Anderson; 41 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; brother, Myron (Bonnie) Galles; sister-in-law, Carolyn Christensen; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and Galen's son, David. Barbara Jo Gibbs, 61, of Hawick, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at the CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud. A Celebration of Life open house was held on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Saulsbury Beach Park on Green Lake, in Spicer. Barbara was born in Kansas City, Mo. on Feb. 5, 1957, to William and Laura (Erwin) Ford. She grew up in Kansas City. Barbara moved to Minnesota in 1989 with her husband Norman Gibbs. On March 14, 1992, she was united in marriage to Norman at the Assembly of God Church in Sauk Centre. The family made their home in Hawick. Barbara worked as a certified nursing assistant at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville for several years. She also worked as a cook for various restaurants in the area including her own mobile kitchen, Mr. Tacos. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Some of her hobbies included cooking for family and friends, listening to music (one of her favorites was Elvis Presley), watching soap operas (General Hospital), and collecting things. She loved to drink 7up and eat Lays Stax chips. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Norman; seven children: Stacey (Valentine) Madera of Oakdale, Tracy Adams of Hawick, Heather (Luke) Sand of Hewitt, Angie Gibbs (fiancŽ, Bob Westphal) of Atwater, Jessie (Martine) Gibbs of Wadena, Kimberly (Robert) Garza of Pennock, and Mark Gibbs of Hawick; twenty-one grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Barbara is also survived by two brothers, Roger Ford of Troy, Kan. and David Ford of Mesa, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Connie and Denise; one brother, Roy; and a grandson, Mason.

Urban Mike Fuchs was born on Aug. 17, 1933, to Anton and Regina (Lieser) Fuchs in Lake Henry, Minn. He passed peacefully on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's. Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 13, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Urban served in the army from 1954 to 1956. While in the army, Urban married the love of his life, Dorine Kulzer, in Anchorage, Ala. They moved back to Paynesville after his honorable discharge and raised a family as he held various positions that allowed him to use his many skills and experiences. Urban was a hard worker and dedicated father and husband, who loved to grow fruits and vegetables. He was an experienced winemaker and wood worker, who loved to share the fruits of his labor. He loved playing cards, dancing, and participating in Marriage Encounter events with Dorine. Urban is survived by his wife, Dorine; children: Ric (Sharon) Fuchs of Paynesville, Minn.; Dan (Sandy) Fox of Rosemount, Minn.; Tom (Pam) Fuchs of Olympia, Wash.; Linda (Bill) Henrichs of St. Cloud, Minn.; Mary (Jerry) Coleman of St. Cloud, Minn.; Susan (John) Fuchs-Hoeschen of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; and Bill (Hancy) Fuchs of Paynesville, Minn.; sisters, Alice Stalboerger of Cold Spring, Minn., and Bernie Hedtke of Grove City, Minn.; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Urb is preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Regina Fuchs; brother, George Fuchs; sisters, Theresa Meyer and Rosie Knoblach; and his grandson, Tony Fox. Harold N. Spanier, 80, of St. Cloud, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at his home. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Aug. 11, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Reverend LeRoy Scheierl and Reverend Gregory Lieser officiated. Burial was at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Cemetery in Richmond. Harold was born on July 31, 1938, to Michael and Thecla (Lieser) Spanier in Richmond, Minn. He grew up on the family farm in St. Martin and attended Paynesville High School. Harold was united in marriage to Wendilia C. Schmitz on July 3, 1981, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. He honorably served his country in the United States Army Reserve. Harold worked as a distributor for Valley Forge Auto Parts and in maintenance at St. Cloud State University, retiring after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Cloud Bishop Zardetti Council #5548, St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622, Independent Order of Foresters, and St. Peter's Catholic Church, where he served as an usher. Harold was a loving husband, brother, and uncle, who loved spending time with his family and friends. Harold enjoyed giving of his time and talents, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Church of the Week, and the St. Cloud Food Shelf. He was an excellent woodworker, who enjoyed any kind of repairs or refinishing jobs. Harold could often be found at Menards, making his daily trip to the store to get supplies for his jobs. Along with woodworking, Harold enjoyed collecting toy tractors Ð collecting every model of tractor that his family members had purchased for their farms. He also enjoyed traveling to his time share in Branson, Mo. and cabin on Lake Minnewaska, where he loved to go fishing. Harold is survived by his wife of 37 years, Wendy; sibling, Marcy (Dale) Voss of Waite Park; sister-in-law, Dolores Spanier of Paynesville; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delbert; and his beloved German shepherds, Ginger and Duchess. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Donald William Flynn, 75, died at his home in Paynesville, on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Visitation was held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock, on Thursday June 21. A private family funeral mass will be held at a later date. Donald was born on May 14, 1943, the son of Glen and Anetta (Schaaf) Flynn. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in DeGraff. He attended school in Benson until 1962. In 1965, Don was united in marriage to Lucille Jindra at St. Bridget's Catholic Church by Monsignor Trainor. Don enjoyed, loved, and cherished his wonderful wife Lucy, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed farming, raising baby calves, and milking cows. He liked hunting, fishing, and go cart racing. He worked in manufacturing as a lead man in Willmar and at Tyler's in Benson. For the last 20 years, he worked driving truck for Prentice Trucking. After his retirement he enjoyed blowing snow and mowing lawn with his big John Deere, playing cards, and having a few beers. He was involved with the St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville, where he served as an usher and helped with adoration. Don is survived by his wife Lucille of Paynesville; his children: Christina (Ed) Hanzel of Fremont, Neb., Tina Flynn of Litchfield, Tony (Christiane) Flynn of Clay Center, Kan., Tom (Lori) Flynn of Tujunga, Calif., Tim (Jenn) Flynn of Seattle, Wash., Tricia (Dennis) Lang of Willmar, Tamara (Dan) Pariseau of Hutchinson, and Terry (Beth) Flynn of Sartell; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Leo F. Kunstleben, 81, of Paynesville, passed away on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Reverend Glenn Krystosek and Reverend Eberhard Schefers officiated. Entombment with military honors was held at the parish cemetery. Leo was born on Jan. 16, 1937, in Spring Hill, Minn., to Leo and Erma (Winter) Kunstleben. He served his country in the United States Army from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1959. Leo was employed by Farmers Union in South St. Paul until 1976. He then owned and operated the Spring Hill Bar until his retirement in 1978. Leo was a member of St. Louis Parish and the Lake Henry American Legion Post #612. Leo is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Gary) Benoit of Sauk Rapids and Brenda (Doug) Widmer of Cold Spring; six grandchildren: Crystal (Justin) Aurich, Brian Benoit, Ashley (Andrew) Zondervan, Shawn (Bethany) Widmer, Travis (Amber Merriman) Widmer, and Samantha Widmer; five great-grandchildren: Carter, Hadlee, Deklyn, Haidyn, and Emma; sister, Loretta Christman of Paynesville; and brother, Melvin of Waite Park. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Othmar Doll and Marvin; sisters, Marie Schmitt and Rosemary Isaak. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Becky LuAnn Schmitz, 71, of Hawick, died on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at her home in Hawick. Her funeral service was held on Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Hawick Methodist Church in Hawick. Burial was at Roseville Cemetery in Hawick. Becky was born on Dec. 14, 1946, in Willmar, Minn. She was the daughter of Elmo and Elsie (Shreffler) Pelkey. She grew up in the New London area where she attended grade school and graduated from the New London High School with the Class of 1965. On Aug. 19, 1972, Becky was united in marriage to Henry Schmitz at Our Lady Of The Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer. This union was blessed with four daughters and two sons. The family made their home in rural Regal until 1996, when they moved to Hawick. Becky worked as a cook and baker for various restaurants in the area including Hillcrest Truck Stop in rural New London and Sisters CafŽ in Belgrade. Becky was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Regal until it closed, and a member of the Lake Henry Legion and Belgrade VFW Auxiliaries. She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing the Toe Jam & Earl video game with her family, feeding birds, and playing cards. Becky loved cooking, feeding people, and baking pies. She also enjoyed crafting; Becky taught her self to crochet, made baby blankets, and enjoyed sewing. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She adored her grandchildren and cherished all the time she spent with them. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Henry; children: Rachel Melbie (John Drexler) of Atwater, George Schmitz of Belgrade, Renae (Jeff) Stiegen of Paynesville, Jacob (Stephanie) Schmitz of Paynesville, Rebekah Schmitz of Willmar, and Ruth Schmitz of Willmar; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. Becky is also survived by her siblings: Patricia (Marvin) Carlson of Pennock, Caroll (Burton) Ditmarson of Spicer, twin sister, Barb (Donald) Jones of Hawick, and Roxanne (Gerhard) Oeltjenbruns of Belgrade; and sister-in-law, Janet Pelkey of Paynesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Tyler; and brother, Mike Pelkey.
Harold Lyle Gustafson, 84, of Paynesville, died on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Harold was born on March 6, 1934, on the family farm near Cannon Falls, Minn. He was the son of Harold A. and Muriel E. (Freeberg) Gustafson. The family moved to Minneapolis where he grew up and graduated from Roosevelt High School. After high school, he began working for the State of Minnesota. In 1956, Harold entered the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. After his honorable discharge in 1958, he returned to Minnesota where he resumed his job with the state. On Nov. 24, 1955, Harold was united in marriage to Beverly Herzan at St. Columbus Catholic Church in St. Paul, Minn. This union was blessed with two daughters and a son. The family started their home in Hanover, Minn. and continued to live in the Twin Cities Metro. After working for the State, Harold became a right-of-way agent for Hennepin County. He continued his career there for 35 years until his retirement in 1989. In 1995, Harold and Bev moved to Paynesville, where they resided at the time of his death. Harold was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville, where he was active as an usher. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, and was a car enthusiast. Harold and Bev also enjoyed wintering at their home in Mission, Texas. Harold was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend; he loved spending time with his family and friends Ð especially taking them for boat rides around the lake. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly; children: Leah Mins of Dayton, Lori (Tina) Gustafson of Brooklyn Park, and Guy (Stephanie) of Huntington, Texas; five grandchildren: John Pierce Mins, Lori Rose Mins, Devin (Hannah) Gustafson, Sydney Gustafson, and Logan Gustafson; sister, Elsie Hall of Vermillion, S.D.; brother-in-law, Robert (Peggy) Herzan of St. Paul; and many nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Irene Huspek; and his brother-in-law, Clayton Hall.
Dallas James Schultz, 79, of Eden Valley, passed away on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Eden Valley. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Paynesville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8 and one-hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home. Dallas was born on Oct. 17, 1938, in Paynesville, to Rheinholdt and Mabel (Brossard) Schultz. He has lived in the Eden Valley area his entire life. He served our country in the United States Navy for three years. Dallas worked as a salesman for water conditioning companies for over 32 years. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and gardening. He participated in many softball and golf leagues throughout his life. Dallas not only enjoyed playing sports, but was also a big fan of watching his kids' and grandkids' activities as well. He was a lovable, caring, father who loved to be a jokester and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his children: Mindy (Don) Webb of Paynesville, Julie (Don) Holmgren of Litchfield, Victoria (Brent) Lahr of Arden Hills, Cory (Nicole) Schultz of Eden Valley, and Derek (Anisha) Schultz of Portland, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Mary.
Rosemary B. Jedlicka, 83, of Paynesville, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Reverend Glenn Krystosek will officiate. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call between 4 and 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1 and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. There will be a rosary at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. Rosemary was born on June 23, 1935, in St. Martin to Andrew and Susan (Lang) Kascht. She married Willard Jedlicka on June 8, 1957, in Lansing, Mich. Rosemary was a homemaker and a daycare provider for many years. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Christian Women, and Daughters of Isabella. Rosemary enjoyed playing bridge, and playing games with family when they visited. She was a woman of devout faith and was very active in her church. Rosemary is survived by her children: Mary (Jerome) Boisvert of Fredric, Wis., Jason (Kimberly) of Bloomington, Ind., John (Adriana) of New York, N.Y., Susan (Steven) Burns of Superior, Wis., and Will (Brianna) of Chaska; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Helen (Wally) Sondrol of Rice, Harvey (Betty) Kascht of Kansas City, Kan., and Cyril (Linda) Kascht of Paynesville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband (1989); and brother, James. Arrangements are with the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville.
Agatha Dorothy Frank passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Mother of Mercy Campus of Care in Albany. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Agatha will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in St. Martin. Reverend Julius Beckermann, OSB, and Reverend Edward Vebelun, OSB, will concelebrate. Burial will be in the Paynesville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, and after 10 a.m. on Friday, both at the St. Martin Parish Center in St. Martin. Parish prayers will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday at the parish center. Agatha (Eisenbacher) was born on June 2, 1938, to Frank George and Anna Florence (Poss) Eisenbacher in Darfur, Minn. Agatha graduated from Atwater High School in 1957. After graduating, Agatha moved to Davenport, Iowa, and worked as a nanny. In 1958, Agatha returned to Minnesota and worked in an egg candling plant in Paynesville. On March 14, 1962, Glenn Virgil Frank and Agatha Dorothy Eisenbacher were united in marriage at the First Evangelical Brethren Church (Grace United Methodist Church) in Paynesville. Glenn and Agatha resided in rural Paynesville where they farmed for many years. Agatha enjoyed cooking and baking. She worked for many years baking pies for many of the restaurants in Paynesville. In October 1973, Agatha and Glenn became entrepreneurs in the restaurant business by purchasing the Koronis Coffee Shop which they later renamed to Der Kleine Rote Hahn, ÒThe Little Red Rooster.Ó Agatha was very talented in art and attended the College of Saint Benedict for three years studying the various aspects of the liberal art field. She was involved in many religious programs including teaching Sunday school at the St. Martin Parish. Her talent of art and her love of religion were expressed in the creation of her ÒPrayer GardenÓ on the family farm and the ÒNoah's Ark MuralÓ that can be viewed at the Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. In December 2003, Agatha suffered a stroke and congestive heart failure; she spent her remaining years in a nursing home facility. Agatha is survived by her children: Michael (Char) Frank of Eden Valley, Meryl Frank (Cindy Witty) of Saint Peter, Marcia (Thomas II) Gray of Saint Martin, and Monique Frank of Albany; grandchildren: Jessica Leyendecker, Katie Frank, Jacob (Nicole) Frank, Emily Frank, Matthew G. Witty-Frank, Amber (Rich) Shonka, Justin Frank, Rebecca (Andrew) Champlain, Cullan Gray, Madeliene Gray, Josh (Jessica) Frank, Ashley (Nate) Simon, Natalie (David) Butzin, and Luke Frank; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings: Roger (Margaret) Eisenbacher and Rita Bidwell. Agatha was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Frank in 1986; son, Marty Frank in 2014; parents; and several siblings. Special thanks to Albany Mother of Mercy nursing staff for their care of Agatha for the past four years, and also to St. Croix Hospice Staff. Memorials are preferred.
