Development grows in city

ampe plat The Ampe Morningside Addition - located on the east side of Paynesville on the end of South Street - recently grew with the approval of the third plat.

The third plat added four new lots - a total of 1.7 acres - to the city.

Originally, the Ampe Morning-side Addition started with ten lots in 2000, the same year Maywood Avenue was built to connect South Street to Highway 23.

The four new lots are located on the east side of Maywood Avenue.

The Paynesville City Council approved the final plat and approved rezoning the lots as residential at their last meeting in September.

According to city administrator Steve Helget, the lots can be developed immediately since city water and sewer are already in place. The development of two more plats in the Ampe Morningside Addition - being developed by Paul and Peter Ampe for the Clara Ampe Trust - is likely, added Helget.
